WSU Ties for Eighth at Jackrabbit Invitational

PRIMM, Nev. -- The Weber State men's golf team wrapped up the Jackrabbit Invitational on Tuesday, finishing in a tie for eighth at Primm Valley Golf Club.
The Wildcats shot rounds of 300, 300, and 308 for a total of 908. UNLV won the event, shooting 845 for a 20-shot victory over second-place Utah Valley.
UNLV's Kurt Kitayama shot rounds of 70, 71 and 68 for a seven-under-par total of 209 to earn individual medalist honors. UVU's Brayden Eriksen shot 211 to finish second, while Kitayama's teammate, Taylor Montgomery finished third at 212.
Weber State was led by Michael Johnson, who posted a top-10 finish for the second time in the team's last three tournaments. Johnson opened the tournament with back-to-back one-under-par 71's during Monday's 36 holes of play, and closed with a 74 on Tuesday to finish tied for seventh at even-par 216 for the event.
Colton Dallimore joined Johnson in the top-20, shooting 73, 73, 78 for an eight-over-par 224 to finish in a tie for 18th place.
Alex Herzog tied for 54th place, shooting 233, while Luke Crapo tied for 68th at 239 and Ryan Sarlo tied for 80th at 250 to round out Weber State's team.
