LAS VEGAS – Behind a powerful performance at the plate, the Wildcats earned a split during day two of the Eller Media Stadium Classic.

The Weber State University softball team pounded out a season high 15 hits, including a pair of two-run homers, to defeat Seton Hall 7-2 on Saturday afternoon at UNLV's Eller Media Stadium.

It proved to be the prefect bounce-back performance for the Wildcats, who dropped a 14-3 rain-delayed contest in five innings earlier in the day.

Freshman left fielder Katelyn Robinson hit her first career dinger in the second inning, putting Weber State ahead 2-0 and the Wildcats' offense continued to roll, pushing their lead out to 6-0 before the Pirates snagged two late runs.

Senior shortstop Brooke Silva was 4-for-4 at the plate in the game, while junior centerfielder Malia Campos – the Wildcats' leadoff hitter – was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Sophomore third baseman Alyson Kulp also recorded a pair of hits, including a two-run shot – her third of the season – in the fourth inning that made it 6-0. Senior designated player/right-hander Jasmine Ioane also recorded two hits, as did Robinson. Kulp and freshman second baseman Mackenzi Corta each hit doubles for Weber State, which improved to 8-5 overall.

Junior right-hander MaCauley Flint earned her second complete-game win of the weekend, striking out 10 and scattering five hits against 30 batter. Flint is 5-1 this season with a team-best 1.39 ERA innings.

Earlier in the day, Weber State fell to DePaul in the conclusion of a game that started on Friday afternoon but was halted due to rain in the bottom of the fourth inning with the Blue Demons leading 8-3. DePaul scored six runs after play resumed to go ahead 14-3 and closed out the Wildcats in order in the top of the fifth to end the game on run rule.

Weber State will wrap up its participation in the Classic on Sunday when it faces its first true road game of the year, taking on tournament host UNLV at 2:30 p.m. MT.
