WSU Drops TIght Match to Air Force

USAFA, Colo. -- Air Force used the doubles point and the final singles point of the match to pull out a 4-3 win over the Weber State men's tennis team on Saturday.
Oliver Good and Sanjay Goswami defeated Steven Young and Andy Jackson 8-6 in the No. 1 doubles match, but the Falcons scored wins in the bottom two matches to take what turned out to be a crucial point.
In singles play, Air Force claimed the opening point, but Weber State responded with wins by Todd Fought and Landon Barlow to knot the match at 2-2. Fought's win came over Jackson in the No. 1 match 6-4, 6-4, while Barlow scored a 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 battle with Jack McCullers at No. 3.
After the Falcons scored a win in the No. 5 match, Good wrapped up a three-setter, defeating Young 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 in the No. 2 match to send the fate of the contest to the No. 6 match. Andrew Parks gave the Falcons the win with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 win over WSU's James Smith.
The loss snaps a two-match winning streak for Weber State, who was without its top player, Jakub Gewert on the day. WSU falls to 6-7 overall on the season, and will return to Big Sky play on Sunday against Northern Colorado.
