Wildcats Win Pair in St. George

ST. GEORGE, Utah -- The Weber State women's tennis team picked up two more wins on Saturday as they defeated Colorado-Mesa for the second-straight day and followed up with a win over Dixie State College.
In the team's morning match, the Wildcats again won the doubles point, but Colorado-Mesa put up a much bigger fight in singles and WSU survived by earning a split for a 4-3 win.
In the afternoon, Weber State took on the weekend road trip's host Dixie State, and the Wildcats took a 5-2 win behind the doubles point and four singles wins.
Thais Kurer and Nittaya Phonharath went 2-0 on the day in doubles, while Kurer also added a pair of wins in singles play to go 6-0 on the week.
Ashley Tanner joined Kurer with a 6-0 record, winning in doubles and singles in both matches on Saturday to match her performance from Friday.
Annika Karlsen added a pair of singles wins on Saturday, while Lauren Schulte picked up her first career singles win with WSU, defeating Dixie State's Sierra Smith 6-4, 6-3.
The Wildcats improved to 5-4 on the season after sweeping the three matches this week.
