OGDEN – A big second half lifted Sacramento State to a 78-71 win over Weber State Saturday night at the Dee Events Center. The loss was Weber State's third-straight Big Sky loss and dropped the Wildcats to 8-11 overall and 3-5 in Big Sky play. The Hornets remain in first place with a 7-1 Big Sky record.
Sacramento State shot 73 percent from the field in the second half and was 6 of 8 from 3-point range, as the Hornets outscored the Wildcats 41-34 in the half. For the game Sacramento State shot 59 percent from the field, the best percentage against the Wildcats all season.

“I thought we played tougher and harder enough, it just wasn't enough against a really talented, veteran team,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “You have to hand it to Sacramento State. They played a great game but I was really proud of our team and how we competed.”
“I also really want to thank the fans for the support tonight,” Rahe added. “It really helps our team and will help them become better. We are in a valley right now but we'll find a way to dig out of it. We'll never accept losing in our program.”
The Wildcats now hit the road for three-straight games beginning Thursday at North Dakota.
