BROOKINGS, S.D. -- South Dakota State never trailed en route to handing Weber State an 85-68 loss Monday night at Frost Arena in WSU's second game of the season.

South Dakota State led by 12 points at halftime as Weber State had 13 first half turnovers. The Wildcats cut the lead to eight early in the second half but the Jackrabbits responded with a 10-0 run to break the game open. WSU was never closer than 13 points in the final 10 minutes of the game.

Both teams shot 50 percent from the field and Weber State outrebounded SDSU 29-28, but the Wildcats had 22 turnovers and allowed the Jackrabbits to score 40 points in the paint.

“This will be one of the best teams we play in the preseason and they were really tough tonight,” said Weber State head coach Randy Rahe. “We turned the ball over too many times and made some mistakes and weren't able to make enough runs. We didn't give up and still fought but just couldn't get the stops we needed. I liked how we continued to fit and not give up. We need to get some guys some experience and continue to get better.”

The Jackrabbits had 21 more shot attempts than the Wildcats and scored 27 points off turnovers. SDSU also knocked down nine 3-pointers.

Weber State was led by junior Jeremy Senglin who scored 20 points for the second straight game. Senglin was 8-of-13 from the field and knocked down two 3-pointers.

Senior Joel Bolomboy had his second double-double in two games, posting 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for the 30th double-double of his career.

Junior Kyndahl Hill added 11 points off the bench on 7-of-8 shooting from the free throw line.

South Dakota State had five players in double figures led by George Marshall who had 17 points. The Jackrabbits (2-0) won their 19th straight home game at Frost Arena.

The two teams will meet again this season as the Jackrabbits will head to Ogden on Dec. 22.

The Wildcats (0-2) will be back home Thursday night to host the University of Antelope Valley at 7 p.m. at the Dee Events Center. After that Weber State will head to the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Fla., for three games beginning Nov. 23.
