OGDEN -- Weber State racked up a season-high 479 yards en route to a 23-3 win over UC Davis on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The win moves Weber State to 5-5 on the season and 4-3 in Big Sky play with one game remaining.

The Wildcats held UC Davis to just 174 yards of offense, the fewest this season and WSU had 25 first downs, compared to just nine for the Aggies.

Weber State never trailed in the game and scored 17 points in the second quarter to break the game open. After a 3-3 score after one quarter, the Wildcats added another field goal and then had back-to-back touchdowns by freshman Treshawn Garrett to take a 20-3 lead at the break. A 40-yard field goal by Josh Kealamakia late in the third quarter was the only scoring by either team in the second half.

“It was a great effort by the whole team today and everybody did their jobs today,” said WSU head coach Jay Hill. “Both the offense and defense did some good things. We still have some areas where we can improve and take some steps forward. We are doing some good things now but can even make steps to improve.”

Garrett had a career day, finishing with 19 carries for 152 yards rushing with two touchdowns. He had a four-yard TD followed by a 21-yard TD in the second quarter. The 152 yards is a career-high for Garrett and the second time this season he has passed 100 yards rushing.

The Wildcats had 321 yards on the ground as a team with Jadrian Clark running for 48 and Emmanuel Pooler adding 41. Clark finished the day 13-of-30 passing for 158 yards. Junior Cameron Livingston was the top receiver with five catches for 96 yards.

On defense, Alema Key led the 'Cats with eight tackles with Emmett Tela adding six. Mitch Tulane had five tackles with one for loss and blocked a UC Davis field goal attempt. Tre'von Johnson recorded a sack for the 'Cats.

Kealamakia knocked down three field goals from 35 yards, 25 yards and 40 yards.

Weber State has a bye next week before closing the season out Nov. 21 at home against Idaho State. The Wildcats will be looking for their first winning season in five years.
