OREM, Utah -- Weber State dropped an 84-81 double-overtime heart-breaker at Utah Valley Wednesday night at the UCCU Center. The Wolverines had big runs at the end of regulation and the end of overtime to keep the game going, then pulled away in the second overtime.

Weber State led by eight points with 2:20 to play in regulation before UVU closed the half on a 9-1 run to send the game into overtime tied 60-60. Then the Wildcats led by seven with 1:21 left in the first overtime but the Wolverines countered with a 7-0 run to force a second overtime tied 69-69.

In the second overtime, Weber State had a two-point lead with 1:16 remaining before a go-ahead 3-pointer by Jaden Jackson with 1:03 to play gave UVU a 78-77 lead. The 'Cats cut the lead to one twice in the final 30 seconds but a missed 3-pointer at the buzzer sealed the win for the Wolverines. UVU improved to 4-0 against the Wildcats in Orem.

Both teams struggled from the field throughout the game. Utah Valley shot 37 percent from the field while the Wildcats shot a season-low 29 percent. WSU was also just 5-of-25 from the 3-point line. Weber State outrebounded UVU 62-42 but committed 19 turnovers.

“We had some chances to win the game but made some mistakes and couldn't finish it off,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “We made too many mistakes down the stretch. We have to learn from this and we will.”

WSU senior Joel Bolomboy had one of the best games of his career, posting career-highs of 28 points and 20 rebounds. Bolomboy was 7-of-16 from the field and 13-of-16 from the free throw line. The 20 rebounds is the most in a game by a Wildcat since 2008. During the game he also became the second player in Weber State history and the fifth player in Big Sky Conference history to reach 1,000 career rebounds.

Junior Jeremy Senglin had 25 points and 10 rebounds for the first double-double of his career. He had just one point at halftime but scored 24 points in the second half and overtime. Senglin was 8-of-18 from the field and 8-13 from the free throw line. Bolomboy and Senglin each played 45 minutes.

Kyndahl Hill added 10 points, eight rebounds and four blocks for the 'Cats off the bench.

Weber State (5-4) continues its road trip playing at Denver Sunday. The game will tipoff at noon and will be televised on ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain.
