The Purple and White slowly pulled away from the Braves (1-6), building up a 6-0 lead after five before erupting for a five-run sixth inning that ended the game early on mercy rule.
In the second game, New Mexico State held the Wildcats to just two hits as the Aggies pulled away with runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings to end the game early.
