Wildcats pick up three qualifiers in Montana

OGDEN, Utah – The men's and women's track and field teams took to the road one more time before they return home for their indoor meet next weekend. A majority of the runners traveled to Bozeman while others went to Seattle. The Wildcats picked up three new conference qualifiers, Stetson Smith (800 meters), Tony Osheku Jr. (200 meters) and Ashley Kealamakia (800 meters).

Husky Classic

Jamie Stokes broke her own school record in the mile run placing sixth in her heat. Her time of 4:43.12 is 0.74 seconds faster than she ran early in the season.

Tip Worob ran the seventh-fastest time in school history in the 5,000 meters. His time of 14:37.61 moved him ahead of Riley Cook's 14:40.13 he ran in 2004.

Joe Maloney ran a new personal-best in the mile, 4:14.81, while Trevor Ricks placed eighth in his heat with a time of 4:09.93. It is the second time this season where Ricks has broken 4:10 in the mile.

Ellie Child improved on her personal-best in the 3,000 meters as she ran 9:33.84 and placed 14th in her heat.

Bozeman Running Company Double Dual Invite

On the women's side, Kealamakia picked up the lone auot qualifier for the conference meet with her third place performance in the 800-meters. Her time of 2:14.99 is a seasonal-best.

Emily Morgan picked up another win in the 60-meters in a personal-best time of 7.71. That time is the fifth-fastest time in school history and her third victory this season. Alex Van Halder took second in the same event in a seasonal-best 7.77

Paige Dilmore took third in the mile run in a seasonal-best 5:12.39. Hailey Whetten took third in the 3,000 meters running 10:26.70.

The Wildcats placed three in the top four in the high jump led by Paige Cooper. Cooper's mark of 5-05.00 won the event, while Desirae Cruse took third while Lindsey Larsen took fourth.

Jazmin Porter moved up to second all-time in the shot put with her mark of 49-11.25 as she won the competition by nearly seven feet. Porter's mark is a new personal-best by over two feet. She also took second in the weight throw.

On the men's side, Osheku matched his seasonal-best with a victory in the 60-meters, 6.98. He ran a personal-best in the 200-meters with his of 22.01, which is an auto qualifier for the conference meet.

Dustin Durfee took second in the 400-meters with his time of 49.44. Stetson Smith's time of 1:55.92 was good enough for second place and an auto qualifier for the conference meet. Zack Schweinsberg was right behing him in third place with his time of 1:56.59.

Joey Czellecz took second in the 60-meter hurdles while Ryan Carlson ran a personal-best time of 8.37 to place third. That time is the eighth fastest time in school history.

Anthony Gregory picked up another victory in the high jump tying his seasonal-best mark of 6-11.00. CJ Deters took third in the shot put with a seasonal-best mark of 50-05.25. Justin Herbert was third in the weight throw with a new personal-best mark of 55-03.75.
