'Cats fall 4-3 to Lumberjacks

The Weber State women's tennis team competed well in the singles round but couldn't clinch a victory over Northern Arizona University and fell 4-3 in Flagstaff, Ariz.
"We came out a little flat in doubles play," head coach Jonas Erhlin said. "We played really well in singles play and earned three victories."
In singles play, Agata Bachanek defeated Johannah Vang 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 1 spot. Romy Dodd-Stephens picked up a win in a three set battle and defeated Marta Lewandowska 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Devi Hasan picked up the third and final point for the Wildcats by taking down Jordan Denesik 5-7, 7-6, 10-4.
With the singles play split evenly it came down to the doubles point. In doubles play, NAU's Lewandowska and Vang defeated Bachanek and Kristi Elmer 6-2 in the No. 1 spot. Emelia Box and Hailey Rochin defeated Dodd-Stephens and Dominique Beauvais 6-2 in the No. 2 spot. The No. 3 doubles match went unfinished. NAU came out with the doubles point and claimed the 4-3 victory over the Wildcats.Â
Weber State improved to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in Big Sky play. The Wildcats will remain on the road to take on Arizona Christian Sunday March 29 before traveling to Dixie State April 3. They will continue Big Sky play April 4 against Southern Utah.
