Weber State takes down Idaho State 4-3

Weber State University's men's tennis team picked up its ninth straight Big Sky Conference win by defeating Idaho State 4-3 Thursday afternoon in Pocatello, Idaho.
In doubles play Stefan Cooper and Sanjay Goswami defeated Daniel Loebel and Bjorn Scheepbower 6-2 in the No. 1 spot. Landon Barlow and Hou-En Chen defeated Austin Miller and Cody Miller 6-0 in the No. 3 spot. The No. 2 doubles spot was tied 3-3 when Weber State secured the doubles point and the match did not finish.
The singles matches were split evenly between Idaho State and Weber State. Idaho State claimed points in the No. 1, 2 and 3 spots in close competitive matches. Goswami handily defeated Cody Miller 6-1, 6-2 to start singles play in the No. 5 spot. Chen was down a set point but came back with a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Austin Miller in the No. 6 spot.
Barlow lost the first set 4-6 but rallied back and claimed the next two sets 6-1, 6-0 over Josh Goodwin in the No. 4 spot. Barlow's victory earned the overall win for Weber State.
Weber State is now 14-9 overall on the season and 9-1 in the Big Sky and remain atop the Big Sky Standings. They have one match remaining against Northern Colorado Sunday, April 19 at Weber State. It will be the Wildcats last home match of the regular season before the Wildcats travel to Sacramento, Calif for the Big Sky Championship tournament.
