OGDEN – It came down to one unfortunate bounce for the Wildcats.
Despite a season-high 22 shots and a clip of possession approaching the 70th percentile, the Weber State University women's soccer team dropped its second straight Big Sky Conference home match as it fell 1-0 to Idaho on Sunday afternoon at Wildcat Soccer Field.
Weber State (0-2-0 Big Sky, 4-6-1 overall) held a 14-5 advantage in shots during the second half, but it was Vandals that would convert one of their few chances in the 59th minute as Kayla Watanabe headed the ball off Olivia Baggerly's free kick across the goalmouth and just inside the far post through traffic.
The Wildcats' offense unleashed 11 of those 22 shots after the Vandals' goal, as Idaho desperately tried to take the air out of ball in order to run out the clock.
Sunday's loss wrapped up a three-match homestand by the Wildcats, with Weber State set to return to the Big Sky Conference road on Friday when it travels to face North Dakota and then moves on to Northern Colorado on Sunday.
