Wildcats beat UNC 85-68 for sixth-straight win

OGDEN - Four Wildcats scored in double figures as Weber State won its sixth-straight game with an 85-68 win over Northern Colorado Saturday night at the Dee Events Center. The win improved Weber State to 11-5 overall and 3-0 in Big Sky Conference play.
The Wildcats never trailed in the game and led by six points at halftime. Northern Colorado was never closer than five points in the second half and the Wildcats led by as many as 19. Weber State improved to 10-0 all-time against UNC in Ogden.
Weber State shot 50 percent from the field, the ninth time this season the 'Cats have shot at least 50 percent from the field. Northern Colorado shot 45 percent and Weber State outrebounded the Bears 39-34 and had just nine turnovers. Both teams attempted 34 free throws.
Joel Bolomboy had his nation-leading 15th double-double, finishing with 14 points and grabbing 17 rebounds. He passed Larry Krystkowiak and moved into third in career rebounding in Weber State history. He needs just 27 more rebounds to become Weber State's career leader.
Jeremy Senglin led Weber State with 15 points and Kyndahl Hill added 14 points and eight rebounds. Freshman Zach Braxton had 11 points on 4 of 4 shooting.
The Wildcats had 37 points off the bench led by freshman Cody John who had nine points.
“This was a good team win for us and we really played better in the second half,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “We weren't as urgent as we needed to be in the first half but we were much more aggressive in the second half and played better defense. Our bench was the biggest difference in the bench and several players gave us big lifts.”
After five games in a row at home, the Wildcats now hit the road for three-straight games starting next Thursday at Portland State.
