LAS VEGAS – The Weber State women's tennis team fell 6-1 to UNLV in Las Vegas Saturday afternoon.Â
Kristi Elmer and Morgan Dickason won in the No. 2 doubles spot defeating Christina Moroi and Mercedes Lopez Velez 7-6 (3). The effort went unrewarded as the Rebels won the rest of the doubles matches claiming the doubles point.
Devi Hasan earned the lone point for Weber State. Hasan defeated Moroi 6-3, 6-4 Â in the No. 4 singles spot.
"We played a very strong team," Director of Tennis Brad Ferreira said. "We got back to playing really good doubles and we were able to win the No. 2 spot. Devi Hasan played very well for her win which is fantastic against such a strong team. Kristi played strong and Morgan keeps getting better each match. These are good matches for us to get ready for conference opponents."
Weber State has a 0-3 overall record on the season. The Wildcats will play New Mexico State Sunday before going to Idaho State in a non-conference match up Feb. 2. The Wildcats will start Big Sky Conference play on Feb. 20 against North Dakota.Â
