Wildcats fall 33-20 to Northern Arizona

OGDEN - Northern Arizona snapped Weber State's six-game home winning streak as the Lumberjacks handed the Wildcats a 33-20 loss Saturday afternoon at Stewart Stadium.
The loss drops the Wildcats to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in Big Sky play with two games remaining in the regular season.
NAU totaled 503 yards of offense with 146 on the ground and 357 yards passing, the most the 'Cats have allowed this season. The Wildcats had 373 yards of offense but rushed for just 64 yards and had two turnovers.
The Lumberjacks jumped out to a 20-0 lead before the Wildcats first scored. NAU had two touchdowns and two field goals and led 20-0 with 4:34 left in the first half. The Wildcats got on the board when Jadrian Clark found Cameron Livingston for a 10-yard touchdown that made it 20-7 at halftime.
NAU started the third quarter with a 36-yard field goal to take a 23-7 lead but Weber State came right back as Clark found Darryl Denby for a 49-yard touchdown to cut the lead to 23-14.
The 'Jacks added a 28-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter to lead 26-14. The Wildcats cut the lead to 26-20 after a Treshawn Garrett one-yard touchdown run with 5:47 to play.
But the Lumberjacks answered on their next possession with a 61-yard touchdown run by Kendyl Taylor that sealed the win.
Individually, Jadrian Clark was 28-of-48 passing for 302 yards and two touchdowns. Andrew Vollert had eight catches for 118 yards and Livingston had eight catches for 66 yards and a touchdown. Denby had six catches for 93 yards.
Junior Zach Smith led the 'Cats on the ground with eight carries for a season-high 38 yards. Haini Moimoi had seven carries for 31 yards.
On defense, Landon Stice led the way with nine tackles while Arnold Lopez and Tre'von Johnson each had eight. Trey Hoskins had seven tackles and two pass breakups.
The win is the fourth straight for Northern Arizona who improved to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in Big Sky play.
Weber State returns to Stewart Stadium for the home finale next Saturday when the Wildcats host nationally-ranked Cal Poly at noon.
