Weber State downs Montana State 4-3

OGDEN - Weber State women's team defeated Montana State in a narrow 4-3 victory Friday afternoon.Â
The match started off slow for the Wildcats as Montana State claimed doubles victories in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots giving them the doubles advantage point going into singles play. In the No. 3 doubles spot Agata Bachanek and Devi Hasan took down Linda Vink and Shelby Cerkovnik 6-3.
The Wildcats had a strong performance in singles play. Bachanek defeated Naomi Holopainen in three sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 1 spot. In the No. 3 spot Sara Parker snapped a three game losing streak by defeating Jessica Brycki 6-4, 6-2
With Montana State wins in the No. 2 and No. 4spots the Wildcats needed to more singles wins to pick up an overall Weber State win.Â
Hasan picked up a win in the No. 5 spot defeating Vink 6-3, 7-5. Morgan Dickason came up with a big victory in singles play taking down Cerkovnik 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 6 spot. With four wins in singles play, Weber State picked up a 4-3 win over MSU.
Weber State is now 5-1 in Big Sky Conference and 6-10 overall on the season. The Wildcats will next take on Southern Utah before hosting Northern Arizona Sunday, April 3.Â
