Weber State takes down Air Force 5-2

Weber State men's tennis team defeated Air Force 5-2 Sunday morning in the last non-conference match up of the season.
The match started off on a positive note with a Wildcat win in the doubles competition in the No. 2 spot by Jakub Gewert and Todd Fought. The Wildcat pair defeated Tadhg Collings and Lucas Fumagalli 6-4.
Also in doubles play, Stefan Cooper and Sanjay Goswami took down Jack McCullers and Max Olson 6-3 in the No. 1 spot. With two Wildcat wins in doubles play the match moved onto singles competiton with WSU having the doubles point advantage.
Singles competition started with a WSU loss in the No. 6 spot. The Wildcats then went on to pick up four consecutive win. Hou-En Chen started the Wildcats off with a 6-0, 7-5 win over Isaac Perez in the No. 4 spot.
Sanjay Goswami defeated Olson 7-6 (5), 6-1 in the No. 5 spot for his fourth consecutive singles win. Landon Barlow took down Fumagalli 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 3 spot to give Weber State a 4-1 lead over Air Force.
Stefan Cooper gave WSU its final point of the game in the No. 2 spot taking down Andrew Parks 6-3, 4-, 7-6 (4).
Weber State is now 8-6 on the season and will host Sacramento State, April 9 and Idaho State, April 10.
