Wildcats take down Hornets 6-1; remain undefeated

OGDEN - Weber State men's tennis team is atop the Big Sky Standings and right behind them has been Sacramento State. The Wildcats dominated the Hornets today as they defeated Sac State 6-1.
The day started off with two Wildcat victories in the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles spot. Sanjay Goswami and Stefan Cooper picked up their fifth straight win by defeating Mikus Losbergs and Kasparas Zemaitelis 6-2 in the No. 1 spot.
Landon Barlow and Hou-En Chen defeated Joaquin Marquez and Christopher Clayton 6-2 in the No. 3 spot. The two Wildcat victories gave WSU the doubles point advantage going into singles play.
The singles competition started off with a 6-1, 6-0 win by Goswami in the No. 6 spot. He took down Uli Vollath. Todd Fought was the next Wildcat to pick up a victory as he defeated Zemaitelis 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 2 spot.
Chen defeated Donald Hall in the No. 5 spot with scores of 6-2, 6-4 for his fourth consecutive singles win.
Cooper took down Marquez in two sets with scores of 6-4, 7-5 in the No. 3 spot while Barlow defeated Dom Miller 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 4 spot.
Weber State remains undefeated in Big Sky Conference play with a 7-0 record and is now 9-6 overall on the season.
The Wildcats will take on Idaho State Sunday, April 10 before going on it's final road trip of the season to Idaho and Eastern Washington. The final match of the season will be at home on April 23 against Montana.
