MOSCOW, ID - Weber State men's tennis team fell to Idaho 5-2 Friday afternoon in its first Big Sky Conference loss of the season. The loss snapped a six match winning streak.

"Idaho played like the defending Big Sky Champions today," said Director of Tennis Brad Ferreira. "We started off a little unlucky in doubles losing that point and Idaho was just too strong for us today."

Idaho began the match by taking 2-3 of the doubles matches. Sanjay Goswami and Stefan Cooper picked up a win in the No. 1 doubles match by defeating Artem Vasheshnikov and Varney 7-6. ,

As for singles play Cooper and Goswami were the only two Wildcats to come out victorious. Cooper continued his hot streak by taking down Varney 7-6, 6-7 (10-3) in the No. 3 spot. Cooper remains undfeated in Big Sky play and has won seven consecutive matches.

Goswami also played a very solid match by taking down Lucas Coutinho 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 6 spot.

Weber State is now 8-1 in Big Sky Conference play and 10-7 overall on the season. The Wildcats will play the last road match of the season against Eastern Washington before returning home to play Montana in the final regular season match of the season.
