Weber State takes down Eastern Washington 7-0

CHENEY, Wash. - The Weber State men's tennis team got back on track by taking down Eastern Washington 7-0 Saturday afternoon in the final road match of the season.
The day started with the Wildcats winning 2-3 of the doubles matches. Stefan Cooper and Sanjay Goswami continued their domination in doubles play by defeating Victor Pereira and Wacil Bendjelti 6-3 in the No. 1 spot.
Todd Fought and Jakub Gewert defeated Vuk Vuckovic and Eduardo Bringold in the No. 2 spot 7-5 giving the Wildcats the doubles point advantage going into singles play.
Weber State owned singles play as they picked up wins in all six spots. Landon Barlow kicked off the singles play with a win over Luke Ness in the No. 5 spot with scores of 6-4, 6-1.
Cooper picked up his eighth consecutive win in the No. 3 spot by taking down Vuckovic 6-3, 6-3.
Fought defeated Bendjelti in the No. 2 spot 6-3, 6-4. Goswami took down Rendell Burghart 6-2, 7-6 to solidify the overall Wildcat victory.
To finish the match up Hou-En Chen defeated Bringold in three sets with scores of 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. Gewert ended the match with a 5-7, 6-3, 10-5 win over Pereira in the No. 1 spot.
The Wildcats are now 11-7 overall on the season and 9-1 in Big Sky Conference play. Weber State will finish the regular season at home against Montana.
