SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Weber State men's tennis took on the University of Utah Saturday afternoon and fell 7-0.
"The score did not reflect how well we played," said Director of Tennis, Brad Ferreira. "I'm extremely happy with the match today. For us to play a PAC 12 team and scare them like we did was very encouraging."
Utah claimed the doubles point advantage claiming victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
In singles play Shao-Po Yin fell to the No. 7 ranked player in our region, David Micevski. His match came down to a tiebreaker and Yin fell, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6
Stefan Cooper played the No. 20 ranked player in the region, Dan Little, and had a great chance to take the first set but couldn't clinch it just to go on and win the second set. Little went on to claim the third set and Cooper lost 4-6, 6-3, 1-6.
The rest of the Wildcats also had tough competition and fought valiantly but Utah claimed all six of the singles matches giving the Utes the 7-0 win over the Wildcats.
Weber State is now 0-2 on the season. They will next host Arizona Christian in the first home match of the season before hitting the road to Las Vegas to compete in the UNLV Invitaitonal.
