'Cats take down Arizona Christian 6-1

OGDEN - Weber State men's tennis picked up it's first win of the season by taking down Arizona Christian 6-1.
"First win of the season always feels good and there was a couple of good wins for our new freshman," said Director of tennis Brad Ferreira. "Arizona Christian is a good team and they put up solid competition for us playing really well."
Weber State started the match off by picking up wins in all three doubles matches. WSU first picked up a doubles win in the No. 3 spot. Hou-En Chen and Cezary Walkusz defeated Gabo Galeffi and Ezequiel Suarez 6-3.
Wildcat duo Scott Hintze and Shao-Po Yin then defeated Enzo Douillac and Alberto Lapiedra 6-4 in the No. 1 spot. To pick up the clean sweep of the doubles point, Kris van Wyk and Michiel Van Schoor defeated Seth Moore and Scott Wheeler 6-4 in the No. 2 spot.
WSU had the one point lead advantage going into singles play.
Yin picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win over Lapiedra in the No. 1 spot for WSU. Van Wyk defeated Douillac 6-4, 7-6 in the No. 2 spot.
Chen defeated Marcelo Balderrama 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 3 spot. Michiel Van Schoor picked up his first collegiate win over Moore 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 5 spot. To finish it off for the Wildcats Hintze defeated Galeffi 5-7, 6-3, 10-7 in the No. 6 spot.
Weber State is no 1-2 overall on the season and are next headed to Las Vegas to particiapte in the UNLV invitational Feb. 3-5.
