Wildcat cross country finishes 2nd, 4th at Utah State

LOGAN, Utah – The Weber State University men's and women's cross country teams finished second and fourth, respectively, at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Utah State on Friday afternoon.

The Wildcat men, led by Braden Perry's third-place finish, recorded 53 points and finished second behind the host Aggies. Perry finished the 7K course with a time of 22 minutes, 20 seconds.

Weber State's Preston Johnson finished seventh with a time of 22:43, and Dain Gerber was ninth at 23:05.

On the women's side, the Wildcats finished fourth overall with 90 points. Lexie Thompson was Weber State's top runner on the 5K course at 19 minutes, 12 seconds, followed by Kim Carlson's 11th place finish with a time of 19:27.

Both Wildcat teams held out their primary runners after a short recovery week following the Notre Dame Invitational.

Weber State will be back in action on Oct. 14 at the NCAA Pre-Nationals Meet in Louisville, Ky., on Oct. 14.
