GREELEY, Colo. – The Wildcats' final day in Colorado ended on a sour note.

Three unearned first-inning runs put the Weber State University softball team in a hole it wasn't quite able to climb out of as the Wildcats fell 6-2 to Northern Colorado in the teams' Big Sky Conference series finale on Saturday afternoon.

Weber State fell to 5-3 in Big Sky play (21-13-1 overall), while Northern Colorado improved to 4-5 in Big Sky action, 16-24 overall.

The Wildcats turned a double play and got a two-run home run from senior first baseman Sara Hingsberger for the second straight day, but it was rough first inning that saw a two-out error extend the inning, and the Bears hit a three-run home run on the next at-bat to take a 3-0 lead.

After having two of its first three series' on the road, the Wildcats now return to Wildcat Softball Field for three of their final four Big Sky Conference series, starting on Friday with Portland State.
