The win moves the 18th-ranked Wildcats to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in Big Sky play. It's the first time WSU has started the season 4-1 since 2003. It was also Weber State's first win in Bozeman since 2008.Â
"It was a back-and-forth game but we were able to contain them and find a way to win," said WSU head coach Jay Hill. "We had a couple of things going against us and a downpour in the second half but they kept battling. Our defense came up with some big stops when they needed to and we converted on offense when we needed to."
The two teams traded field goals in the first quarter, then WSU converted on two more field goals in the second quarter and led 9-3, before a 64-yard touchdown in the final minute of the half game Montana State a 10-9 lead at halftime, the first time WSU had trailed at halftime this season.ÂWildcats win!!! 18th-ranked Weber State moves to 4-1 and 2-0 in #BigSkyFB play with a win at Montana State. #WeAreWeber pic.twitter.com/J4TR4qPayI
