'Cats beat Bears 71-66 in overtime

OGDEN - Weber State rallied from a 14-point first half deficit to pull out a 71-66 overtime win over Northern Colorado Saturday night at the Dee Events Center.
The win is the seventh-straight for Weber State and the 'Cats improve to 17-7 overall and 10-2 in Big Sky play.
The Wildcats trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half as UNC jumped out to a 27-13 lead with 4:36 left in the first half. The Bears held a 29-19 lead at the break as both teams shot 33 percent from the field.
WSU got things going in the second half, starting the half on a 13-4 run. WSU took its first lead at 11:08 to play but UNC fought back. The Bears led by five at 60-55 with 30 seconds to play. Back-to-back field goals by Jerrick Harding and Zach Braxton cut the lead to one with 10 seconds left. UNC made one free throw before Harding knocked down two free throws with five seconds left to send the game to overtime, WSU's first OT of the season.
The 'Cats held the Bears to 2 of 8 shooting in overtime and Braxton and Harding combined for eight of WSU's 10 points in the overtime to seal the win.
Weber State shot 43 percent from the field and held the Bears to 34 percent shooting, including 25 percent in the overtime. Northern Colorado had 53 rebound with 19 offensive rebounds, compared to 36 for the Wildcats. WSU did have a season-high nine blocked shots and was 13 of 17 from the free throw line.
Braxton scored a career-high 25 points and tied his career-high with 13 rebounds. He was 11 of 18 from the field and also added three blocked shots in 39 minutes of play. Braxton averaged 23.5 points and 10 rebounds per game in the two wins this week and shot 61 percent from the field.
Harding added 23 points with five rebounds, three steals and two assists. Ryan Richardson scored in double figures for the 16th straight game as he finished with 12 points and made two 3-pointers.
Weber State has won 10 or more Big Sky games in 11 of 12 seasons under head coach Randy Rahe.
The Wildcats hit the road for two games next week, starting at Portland State Thursday night in a 9 p.m. MT tipoff.
