Wildcats roll to 87-55 win at NAU

Weber State shot 60 percent from the field and made 13 3-pointers as the Wildcats rolled to an 87-55 win over Northern Arizona Saturday night at the Walkup Skydome.
The Wildcats never trailed in picking up their fifth straight victory. It was also Weber State's ninth-straight win in Flagstaff. WSU used a 26-7 run early on and led by as many as 20 points in the first half before taking a 39-27 lead at halftime. The second half was all Weber State as the 'Cats started the half on a 22-5 run in the first seven minutes and never looked back. WSU led by as many as 41 points before setting in for the 32-point win. Weber State defeated NAU by 40 points in early January.
The 'Cats shot 65 percent from the field in the second half and finished the game shooting 33 of 55 for 60 percent shooting. It's the fourth time this season the 'Cats have shot 60 percent or better from the field.
Weber State knocked down 13 3-pointers, tied for the most against a Division I opponent this season, and outrebounded NAU 35-27. WSU also had 24 points off turnovers and was 8 of 10 from the free throw line. NAU shot 36 percent and was just 1 of 13 from 3-point range.
Four Wildcats scored in double figures with sophomore Jerrick Harding leading the way. Harding scored 29 points on 11 of 14 shooting, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range. He also tied his season-high with six rebounds and had two assists. Harding continues to lead the Big Sky in scoring, now at 21.9 points per game, and has scored 20 or more points 14 times in 22 games.
Dusty Baker had another strong game off the bench, finishing with 17 points on 5 of 7 shooting, all coming from 3-point range. He also had six assists and five rebounds.
Ryan Richardson added 16 points and scored in double figures for the 14th straight game. He was 7 of 12 from the field and knocked down two 3-pointers. Zach Braxton added 10 points on 5 of 5 shooting and had five rebounds.
The Wildcats have won five-straight and eight of their last nine, to improve to 15-7 overall and 8-2 in Big Sky play, still second in the league standings. The 'Cats wrapped up a three-game road trip and now return home for two games this week, hosting North Dakota Thursday and Northern Colorado on Saturday.
