Wildcats fall 1-0 to Sun Devils

Weber State soccer fell to Arizona State Sunday afternoon 1-0 in as the Sun Devils sunk a goal early in the second half.

"It was a warm one today but girls played well," said head coach Tim Crompton. " We gave a max effort, however we had a little stretch where ASU put it on us and that was the difference. We had a couple stretches ourselves where we had control of the momentum, however we were unable to produce the final product in those stretches."

Trinity Kerr was the lone Wildcat to get a shot off on goal and it happened in the 39th minute of play.

In the 61st minute, Arizona State was able to get one past goalkeeper Nikki Pittman to give the Sun Devils the 1-0 lead.

Despite allowing one goal, Nikki Pittman came up with three saves to help the Wildcats stay in the game.

The Wildcats had just four shots to Arizona State's 11. The Sun Devils had four shots on goal while Weber State had one.

Weber State is now 2-3-3 overall on the season and will start Big Sky action this week by hosting Southern Utah and Northern Arizona.
