Wildcat men 5th, women 7th at NCAA Mountain Regionals

SALT LAKE CITY, UT - The Weber State women's and men's cross country teams competed at the NCAA Mountain Regionals Friday afternoon, hosted by the University of Utah at the Rose Park Golf Course in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Both the women's and men's teams ran well, and placed in 7th and 5th, respectively.
WOMEN
Senior Lexie Thompson finished first for the Wildcats, coming in 14th overall with a time of 20:22.5. Finishing 19th overall with a time of 20:29.8 was Abby Lawrence. Isabella Williams finished next for the Wildcats, coming in 55th overall with a time of 21:23.9. Bailey Wall came in 68th with a time of 21:46.6, and Cheyenne Leatham finished 88th with a time of 22:07.9.
Weber State finished in 7th place with 244 points in a highly competitive field including five Big Sky teams and six nationally-ranked teams. The Wildcats finished ahead of Southern Utah and Utah State.

MEN
Sophomore Christian Allen finished first for the Wildcat men, coming in 14th overall with a time of 30:51.6. Finishing 24th was sophomore Taylor Dillon with a time of 31:07.4. Up next to cross the finish line for Weber State was Dallin Leatham with a time of 31:37.7 to earn 38th overall. Austin Byrer finished just behind Leatham, in 39th, with a time of 31:38.7. Jordan Cross finished 43rd overall with a time of 31:41.4.
Weber State finished in 5th place with 158 points in a very competitive field with six Big Sky teams and five nationally-ranked teams, including three-time champion Northern Arizona. The Wildcats finished ahead of Wyoming, Utah Valley, and Southern Utah.
Final team and individual bids to the NCAA Championships will be announced Saturday, November 16th, in the afternoon. Lexie Thompson, Christian Allen, and Taylor Dillon should have a bid to the NCAA Championships held in Terre Haute, Indiana on Saturday, November 23rd.Â
