Wildcats drop first game of Gulf Coast Showcase

ESTERO, FL - Weber State dropped its opening game of the Gulf Coast Showcase with a 72-57 loss to Wright State Monday afternoon.Â
The Wildcats will take on Murray State on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Mountain time in the second game of the tournament.Â
The Wildcats trailed by one at 14-13 with 11:37 to play in the first half when Wright State went on an 11-0 run to take a 27-13 lead. The Raiders closed the half on a 9-3 run and led 39-23 at the break. Wright State led by as many as 23 points early in the second half.Â
Weber State shot 36 percent from the field, compared to 48 percent shooting for the Raiders. The 'Cats were 5 of 21 from 3-point range and committed 13 turnovers.Â
Senior Jerrick Harding led the way with 21 points on 8 of 15 shooting and freshman KJ Cunningham added 10 points with two assists. Michal Kozak had seven points and Austin Galuppo added six.Â
