Wildcats fall to Utes in Beehive Classic

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Utes defeated Weber State 60-49 Saturday afternoon at the Beehive Classic at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City.
Both teams struggled from the field with Utah shooting 34 percent and Weber State 33 percent. Utah also rebounded the Wildcats 47-34.
The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead and the game was tied 20-20 with 6:48 to play in the first half, when Utah went on an 11-0 run. Utah led 31-25 at halftime.
The Utes started the second half on a 12-4 run over the first four minutes and never looked back. Utah led by as many as 18 points in the second half.
Jerrick Harding led the Wildcats with 17 points, with 13 coming in the second half. He also had four assists, four rebounds and two steals.
Cody John added 15 points with five rebounds and two assists and Kham Davis had 11 points with a team-high three steals.
This was the first game between the two schools in eight years. It was also the final game of the three-year Beehive Classic.
The Wildcats return home to take on Bethesda Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Dee Events Center. WSU will close out the regular season next Saturday night at BYU.
