OGDEN, Utah - Weber State University's women's tennis team picked up a dominating 6-1 home victory over Grand Canyon University Saturday afternoon at the Ogden Athletic Club.
"Today was a good start to the weekend and the ladies played well," head coach Mark Roberts said. "The matches were close and we did a great job competing at the end of sets. We look forward to our first conference match tomorrow against Idaho."
WSU started out with two quick doubles victories from the No. 3 and No. 2 courts to earn a 1-0 lead over Grand Canyon.
In singles play, the 'Cats won the first three completed matches to clinch the team win and went on to win five out of six matches.
Weber State's four game home stretch begins tomorrow as they host Idaho for first Big Sky Conference match at 9 a.m.
