Wildcats Open Season with 8th Place Finish at Hobble Creek Fall Classic

The Weber State women's golf team opened up the fall season with a tournament total of 895 to finish with an 8th place finish at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic, which wrapped up on Tuesday at Hobble Creek Golf Course in Springville, Utah.
The Wildcats shot rounds of 300 and 298 on Monday before closing the tournament with a 297 on Tuesday.
Kirsten Convoy shot rounds of 72-74-76 for a 9-over-par 222 to lead the Wildcats, tying for 20th place on the individual leaderboard.
Gabby DeNunzio joined Convoy in the top-30 with a tie for 29th place with an 11-over-par total of 224. After an opening round 81, DeNunzio shot rounds of 73 and 70. Her final round 1-under-par 70 was the low score for the team during the tournament.
Morgan Bently shot 77-75-75 for a total of 227 to tie for 42nd place, while Lydia Austin shot 77-76-76 to tie for 51st at 229. Taitum Beck rounded out the Weber State scoring team with rounds of 74-85-78 for a total of 237 to finish 82nd.
Kameryn Basye shot rounds of 73-76-76 playing as an individual and tied for 34th place with a 12-over-par total of 225.
Cal State Fullerton edged New Mexico State by a single shot for the team championship. The Titans shot 878 behind rounds of 288-299-291.
Jocelyn Chee of California Baptist and Cristiana Ciasca of Wyoming each shot even-par totals of 213 to claim co-individual medalist titles.
