Wildcats Finish 5th in Battle at Old Works

The Weber State women's golf team shot a three-round total of 913 to finish fifth in the team standings as the Battle at Old Works tournament wrapped up on Tuesday at Old Works Golf Course in Anaconda, Mont.

The Wildcats posted rounds of 302 and 298 on Monday and sat in fifth after 36 holes, and the team held position on Tuesday despite shooting a final round score of 313.

Gabby DeNunzio led the Wildcats for the tournament, posting a tie for 8th place after shooting rounds of 74-74-76 for an 8-over-par total of 224.

Kameryn Basye shot rounds of 75-76-76 to join DeNunzio in the top-20, as her 11-over-par 227 placed her in a tie for 13th overall.

Kirsten Convoy tied for 28th with rounds of 81-74-88 for a total of 233. Morgan Bentley led the team over the first day, posting rounds of 73 and 74 on Monday, but slipped to a tie for 32nd overall at 235 following a final round 88. Lydia Austin rounded out the team with a total of 240 to tie for 42nd place.

Cal Poly claimed the team title, shooting a total of 885 for a three-shot margin over second place Eastern Washington. North Dakota State finished third at 899.

Eastern Washington's Madalyn Ardueser ran away with the tournament's medalist honors, shooting rounds of 71-70-69 for a 6-under-par total of 210. Montana State's Kelly Hooper finished second at 217.
