Wildcats host Panthers in top-10 showdown

THE GAME

• It's a top-10 national showdown Saturday as fifth-ranked Weber State hosts seventh-ranked Northern Iowa.

• Saturday's game will kickoff at 6:05 p.m. at Stewart Stadium. The game will be televised throughout the state of Utah on KJZZ TV and streamed online for free on Pluto TV 535 and WatchBigSky.com. Dave Fox, Alema Harrington and Frank Dolce will be on the call.

• Radio broadcast will be on 1430 KLO radio and kloradio.com with Steve Klauke and former Wildcat head coach and athletic director Jerry Graybeal on the call.

• Live stats will be at WeberStateSports.com and the Weber State app.

OPENING DRIVE

• Weber State is 1-2 on the season. The Wildcats are ranked fifth in the nation in this week's STATS FCS poll and sixth in the AFCA Coaches poll.

• Northern Iowa is 2-1 on the year. The Panthers are ranked seventh in the coaches poll and ninth in the STATS poll.

• This will be the first regular season home game in Weber State history featuring two teams ranked in the top 10 in the nation.

• Weber State is coming off a bye week last week. The Wildcats lost 19-13 at Nevada in their last game on Sept. 14. Saturday will be the final non-conference game of the year.

• Jay Hill is his sixth season as head coach of the Wildcats. Hill has a career record of 37-28 at Weber State.

• The Panthers are coached by Mark Farley who is in his 19th season as head coach.

• Saturday's game will be a Purple Out with all fans encouraged to wear purple and 3,000 purple t-shirts given away. The team will also be debuting new all purple uniforms.

• The game will also be a celebration of the 100th anniversary of football at Weber State.

• This will be the third-straight Big Sky opponent for Northern Iowa who has played Southern Utah and Idaho State at home.

• This will be the fourth ever meeting in the series with Northern Iowa holding a 2-1 lead. The last meeting came in the Division I-AA playoffs in 1991.
