Vikings beat Wildcats 92-76 in Portland

Despite a career-high from Cody John, Portland State outrebounded Weber State by 19 and the Vikings knocked off the Wildcats 92-76 Monday night at Viking Pavilion in Portland.
How it happened
The first half was a game of runs as Weber State jumped out to a 17-11 run early on. The Vikings followed that up with a 13-0 run and led 24-17 with 11:41 left in the first half. Later in the half, the Wildcats had a 13-0 run of their own and regained the lead at 36-34. Portland State led 42-38 at halftime.
The second half was all Portland State as the Vikings started the half 9-3 run and never trailed again. The lead was never less than six after that and PSU led by as many as 18 points late in the game.
Inside the numbers
Portland State outrebounded the Wildcats 47-28 and the Vikings had 20 offensive rebounds, which led to 20 second chance points. Weber State shot 50 percent with PSU shooting 49 percent. The Wildcats were 7 of 21 from 3-point range and 9 of 16 from the free throw line. The Vikings had 56 points in the paint and 36 points off the bench.
John and Harding combined for 53 of Weber State's 76 points. John was 12 of 17 from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range for his career-high of 29 points. He also had a career-high four steals, along with three rebounds and two assists in 34 minutes of play.
Harding added 24 points on 10 of 21 shooting with two 3-pointers. He also had two rebounds and one assist. He also moved past Wildcat legend Damian Lillard into third place on the Weber State career scoring list. He now has 1,952 career points in 109 career games. He is 127 points away from passing Jeremy Senglin and becoming WSU's career scoring leader.
