Wildcats beat Montana 87-85 in overtime

OGDEN - It was another close game at the Dee Events Center, but this time, Weber State came out on top as the Wildcats rallied to beat Montana 87-85 in overtime. 

How it happened
Montana led by 12 points late with 4:49 to play in the first half and led 43-36 at halftime. The Wildcats started the second half on a 9-0 run and took the lead early in the half and it was back-and-forth the rest of the way. 

The Griz led by seven points with 2:02 to play when Mical Kozak and Kham Davis made back-to-back 3-pointers to cut the lead to 71-70 with 1:09 to play. After a Montana free throw, Jerrick Harding made a layup with seven seconds left to tie the game and send it to overtime. 

The Wildcats were 3 of 4 from the field and 8 of 9 from the free throw line in the extra period, with Harding scoring nine points in overtime. 

Inside the stats
The Wildcats outrebounded Montana 39-30 and WSU was 24 of 28 from the free throw line, including 15 of 17 in the second half and overtime. 

Weber State shot 47 percent from the field and was 9 of 18 from 3-point range. 

Harding led the Wildcats with 32 points, his 11th career 30-point game. He was 10 of 19 from the field tied his career-high with five 3-pointers, and was a perfect 7 of 7 from the free throw line. He also had four rebounds and three assists in 41 minutes of play. 

Harding also became just the third player in Weber State history to reach 2,000 career points. He now has 2,015 points in his 111 career games. He needs just 64 points to pass Jeremy Senglin as Weber State's all-time leader. 

Cody John added 19 points and was a perfect 6 of 6 from the free throw line. Kozak had his fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds. 

Up next 
With the win the Wildcats improve to 7-13 overall and 3-6 in conference play. Weber State next hits the road for two games next week, playing at Southern Utah on Thursday and Northern Colorado on Saturday.
