Wildcat men's tennis takes down Bryant

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Weber State men's tennis continued the 2020 season on Saturday afternoon with a 4-3 win over Bryant.
"This was a very close, well-fought match by both teams," said Brad Ferreira, men's head coach. "We took the doubles point and then had two solid performances by Kris and Arthur to go up 3-0. We lost a close match at 4, and then an extremely close exciting match at 3. After losing at 6, we came back from a set down at 5 to clinch the match."
In doubles action, Bryant grabbed a win in the no. 2 spot, but WSU duo Kris van Wyk and Arthur Serafim took down Bryant's Dong and Massam 6-4 in the no. 1 spot, and duo Sebastian Buxman and Cezary Walkusz beat Bryant's Corrado and Sen 7-5 in the no. 3 spot to come away with the doubles point.
In singles play, Arthur Serafim starting things off on a great note for the Wildcats by defeating Trent Massam 6-2, 6-3. Kris van Wyk was the next WSU player to come away with a victory as he defeated Dong 6-0, 7-6, to bring the overall match score to 3-0.
Bryant was able to come away with wins in the no. 3, no. 4, and no. 6 spot. However, Brendan Barr competed well and won in the no. 5 spot against Pertile that went to three sets with scores of 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. With this win, Weber State men's tennis was able to clinch the match.
Weber State (2-2 overall) will take on Airforce Academy on Sunday, January 26th at 9:00 am in Colorado.
