Weber State falls to Northern Arizona 92-61

Weber State women's basketball took on Northern Arizona and fell 92-61 Saturday afternoon.

How it happened: The Wildcats started out the game hanging tight to the Lumberjacks. WSU trailed by just one point until NAU went off and took a 22-11 lead by the end of the first quarter.

WSU was outscored 23-13 in the second quarter and trailed 45-24 at halftime.

Weber State started the third quarter on a 2:30 scoring drought. WSU scored consistently throughout the rest of the quarter putting up 17 points to NAU's 20.

The fourth quarter was the best for the Wildcats as they put up 20 points. NAU stayed ahead of WSU and took away a 92-61 victory.

Leaders: Kayla Watkins led WSU with 18 points going 6-9 from the field, 2-2 from the three and 4-4 from the line. Ula Chamberlin had 14 points for WSU and Hickok put up 12. Jadyn Matthews led WSU on the boards with nine.

Comparison: Weber State shot 42 percent from the field, 43 percent from the three and 54 percent from the free throw line. WSU ended the game with 35 total rebounds, 14 turnovers and nine assists. WSU had 24 points in the paint and 23 off the bench.

Northern Arizona shot 43 percent from the field, 30 percent from the three point line and 74 percent from the line. The 'Jacks ended the night with 47 total rebounds, 21 assists and one turnover. NAU had 42 points in the paint and 24 off the bench.

Notes to know: Weber State is now 3-19 overall on the season and 12 in Big Sky Conference play.
