Wildcats compete well at WSU Indoor Invitational

OGDEN, UT - The Weber State women's indoor track and field team had some record-breaking performances at the Weber State Indoor Invitational on January 29th and 30th. 

"I'm happy with the progression of our throwers and runners," said women's head coach, Paul Pilkington. "We also had some girls who competed unattached that still have outdoor eligibility, who did well today."

In the 55 meters, Ashlyn Campos and Monnie Spears-Rogers both tied for fourth place, finishing with a time of 7.34. Amy Frank finished in sixth with a time of 7.38, and Brianna Powell finished seventh at 7.47. In the 200 meters, Amy Frank finished in fourth place with a time of 26.70, and Monnie Spears-Rogers finished fifth at 26.91. 

Kate Sorensen had a great meet, earning first place in the 400 meters with a time of 54.69. This is currently ranked 29th in the NCAA. Freshman Shelby Andrewsen finished in 11th with a time of 1:00.60 in the 400 meters. 

Klarissa Andersen competed in the women's mile, and earned fifth place with a time of 5:31.04.  

Lexie Thompson, competing unattached, broke the stadium record by a whopping 20 seconds in the 3K, finishing with a time of 9:28.21. Cheyenne Leatham finished in second place, coming in at 10:41.51, and Allie Green finished fourth with a time of 11:00.40. 

In the 55 meter hurdles, Kate Sorensen earned first place with a time of 7.83, and Cidnee Davies-Bohn finished second at 8.17.

Weber State came out on top of the 4x400 meter relay when Shelby Andrewsen, Brittany Cardall, Ashlynn Campos, and Kate Sorensen worked together to get a time of 3:58.23.

In the women's high jump, Paige Van Meeteren (competing unattached) finished first with a mark of 5'8". Eden Deveraux finished fourth with a 5' 4.25" mark. Cidnee Davies-Bohn earned second place in the long jump, with a mark of 18' 3.25". 

In the weight throw, Sophie Herbert earned first place and a new PR with a 56' 1.75" mark. This puts her ranked fifth in Weber State's All-Time list. Kapua Pulotu earned second place in the shot put with a throw of 47' 1.5". This performance put Pulotu in eighth on WSU's All-Time list.
