PROVO, UT - Weber State women's indoor track and field team put up some record-breaking performances at the BYU Cougar Collegiate II Indoor Invitational from February 4th-6th. A full list of results from the meet can be found here. The meet was hosted by BYU, and UNLV, Northwest Nazarene, UVU, and SUU all competed.

"The women's team did fantastic this weekend," said assistant coach, Tiffany Hogan. "They continue to grow and get faster and stronger even with all of the ups and downs that keep getting thrown at them with COVID-19 restrictions and variability and the indoor championships getting cancelled. The team is doing very well and I can't wait to see them in the outdoor season!"

Kate Sorensen earned third place in the women's 60 meter hurdles, finishing just .16 seconds behind former Wildcat student-athlete, Tawnie Moore. Sorensen came in at 8.49. Cidnee Davies-Bohn finished in sixth place, coming in at 8.77.

"The girls are running at or near their personal bests and it was fun to see them so excited about their performances. Kate ran at her best and continues to get faster and faster with each meet. Some women are just returning from their (LDS) missions and are just hitting their strides. It's very exciting to see," said Hogan.

Cheyenne Leatham competed well in the mile run, finishing in second place with a time of 5:03.9. Emily Morgan-King ran unattached in the 60 meters, and finished in fifth with a time of 7.60. Morgan-King also competed unattached in the 200 meters, and finished first with a time of 24.70. Brittany Cardall finished in 13th with a time of 26.41, and Monnie Spears-Rogers finished 14th at 26.42.

In the women's long jump final, Cidnee Davies-Bohn finished seventh with a jump of 18-06.75. Lucia Fortado finished 14th with a 15-06.25 jump. Fortado also competed in the triple jump, and finished 11th with 32-04.25.

Amiee Chambers competed in the women's high jump, and earned third place with a 5-05.75 jump. Eden Deveraux finished fourth with a jump of 5-03.75.

"It's fun to be competing again and back in the atmosphere of competition. We've been blessed to have a meet every weekend, and look forward to the outdoor season!"
