GAME NOTES: Undefeated Wildcats Return Home to Face Idaho, EWU

The undefeated Weber State Wildcats return to Swenson Gym for two matches this week, hoping to continue their Big Sky Conference dominance against the Idaho Vandals and the Eastern Washington Eagles. WSU squares off against Idaho on Thursday, October 21st at 6:00, and against EWU on Saturday, October 23rd at 2:00. Saturday's match will be Alumni Night, when the program will honor and show appreciation for all those who have Weber State purple and white.

WEBER STATE
-The Wildcats have won their last 16 Big Sky Conference matches dating back to the 2020-21 season, and are 34-2 in Conference matches going back to 2019.
-Swenson Gym has morphed into one of the hardest places to play in the nation. Weber State has won a school record 21 consecutive matches at home.
-Weber State has been living up to the nickname "#AceState" that Wildcat Nation has given it. The 'Cats are averaging 2.13 aces per set, which is good for fifth place in the whole country.
-Dani Nay has been an absolute weapon from the service line and leads the nation in total aces with 47.
-Weber State boasts three of the top four servers in the conference in aces per set in Nay (.70/set), Ashlyn Power (.42/set), and Rylin Adams (.39/set).
-Nay has won back-to-back Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week awards, and was tremendous in WSU's away matches last week, crushing the ball for 31 kills and a .452 attack percentage.
-Makayla Sorensen had a dominant defensive week with 41 digs and 6.83 digs per set, which was good enough to take home the conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
-Sam Schiess currently sits atop the Big Sky leaderboard in attack percentage and is hitting a scorching .338.
-Adams leapt out on top of the Big Sky leaderboard for kills per set (3.84/set) and hasn't relinquished that lead all season.
IDAHO
-The Vandals boast a 25-16 lead in the all-time series against Weber State, and the two teams are 3-3 in their last six matches against each other.
-Defensively, the Vandals pride themselves in a tough block and average 2.05 blocks per set as a team.
-Idaho's Nicole Ball leads the team with a .290 attack percentage, and sits in 9th place in the conference.
-Setter Peyten Ely's 7.87 assists per set lead the team and are the fifth most in the Big Sky this season.
-Allison Munday is one of the toughest servers in the conference and is averaging .38 aces per set played.
-Idaho is looking for its first away win since a 3-1 victory against Robert Morris University on September 3rd.
EASTERN WASHINGTON
-EWU holds a slim lead in the all-time series against Weber State (47-32), but the Wildcats have won the last seven matches against the Eagles.
-After a five-set win in Moscow, Idaho last week, the Eagles got their first win on the road against Idaho since 2016.
-In a conference that's full of teams with tough serves, EWU is one of the toughest. The Eagles are second best in the conference and are averaging 1.65 aces per set.
-Ashlyn Blotzer is one of the most efficient attackers in the Big Sky, and is attacking at a .320 clip.
