Final non-conference game of the season for Weber State.
• Weber State closes out a four-game homestand and plays its final non-conference game of the season when the Wildcats host Fresno State Thursday afternoon at the Dee Events Center.
• The game will tipoff at 4 p.m. It will be televised on ESPN+ with Tony Parks and former Weber State head coach and Big Sky Coach of the Year Joe Cravens on the call. WSU radio broadcast with Steve Klauke and former Wildcat and Big Sky MVP David Patten will be on 103.1 FM "The Wave". Live stats at WeberStateSports.com.
• For Thursday's afternoon game, it's Slam Dunk Hunger Night where fans can bring five cans for a $5 ticket or 10 cans for a $5 ticket and a shirt.
• Both teams enter Thursday's game with a 9-3 record. The Wildcats started the season 8-0 but have since lost three of their last four games with losses to Washington State, Utah State and BYU. The Wildcats fell 89-71 to BYU last Saturday in Ogden. The Cougars knocked down 16 3-pointers in the game. Utah State made 15 3-pointers in their win over the Wildcats last week.
• Fresno State is also 9-3 on the season following a 55-50 loss at Utah on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs are eighth in the nation in scoring defense at 55.9 points per game.
• For third time this season, Weber State freshman Dillon Jones has been named the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week. Jones earned the honor for his performance in Weber State's two games against Utah State and BYU last week. He averaged 19.5 points and 11 rebounds per game while shooting 70 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free throw line. Jones led the Wildcats with a career-high 20 points in Saturday's game against BYU. He was 7 of 10 from the field and also grabbed 11 rebounds.
• Jones has eight double-doubles through 12 games this season, which is tied for the second-most of any player in the country. He is averaging 13.4 points per game, eighth-best in the Big Sky. He leads the conference and is ninth in the country in rebounding at 10.4 per game. Jones has led the Wildcats in rebounding in 11 of the 12 games this season. He also leads the Big Sky and is 25th in the country in field goal percentage at 60.4 percent. Jones, the 2021 Big Sky Freshman of the Year, is also fifth in the Big Sky in steals at 1.7 per game and ranks seventh in minutes played.
