OGDEN, UT - The Weber State women's volleyball team improved to 6-0 with two dominating victories against Southern Utah University on February 12 and 13. The Wildcats took down the Thunderbirds 3-0.
The Wildcats started their second game against the Thunderbirds with a strong kill by Dani Nay. The point set the tone for the Wildcats in the first set, which was dominated largely by the home team. Southern Utah struggled with service errors, while Weber State's strong consistency and team seniority won out, and the Wildcats took the first set 25-16.
Southern Utah started the second set with a lot of energy, scoring three points right off the bat. The Thunderbirds played well in the second set, and the score was even until the Wildcats took over halfway through the match. The set ended in an exciting back-and-forth volley that was ended by Ashlyn Power. The Wildcats took set two 25-16.
Weber State walked onto the court to dominate in set three. They began the set with eight points to Southern Utah's zero, and continued to dominate the Thunderbirds throughout the rest of the set. The final set score was 25-10.
