Women's Tennis Defeats New Mexico State 6-1

Salt Lake City, UT - Weber State women's tennis swept New Mexico State 6-1 this morning.Â
"It was great to see the determination and fight from everyone on the team," said head coach RuthAnn Allen.
In doubles action, the Wildcats swept all three matches. WSU duo Yuuna Ukita and Ana Morett Salas earned the first win in the No. 1 spot 6-2. Megan Lombardi and Sicely Ferreira finished next in the No. 3 spot defeating the Aggies' 7-6 to secure the doubles point. Pei-Hsuan Kuo and Megan Davies finished off the doubles play 7-5 with a win against New Mexico State's Chloe Gavino and Lucija Josipovic.Â
The cats' went on to control singles play as well. Sicely Ferreira started things off on a great note for the Wildcats by defeating Lucija Josipovic 6-1, 6-3. Ana Morett Salas finished next in the No. 3 spot, with a dominating 6-3, 6-0 win. Megan Davies clinched the match with her 6-3, 6-2 win and Megan Lombardi secured the point 3-6, 7-6, 10-8. Yuuna Ukita finished off singles play in the No. 1 spot 7-5, 6-4. New Mexico State was able to pick up one point making the final score 6-1 for the Wildcats.Â
The Wildcats will continue their 2021 season against Utah on Saturday, February 6th.Â
