PROVO, UT - The Weber State University men's indoor track and field student-athletes competed at the BYU Cougar Collegiate II Indoor Invitational. The meet featured athletes from BYU, UVU, SUU, and Northwest Nazarene. A complete list of results can be found here.

"It was a fun weekend," said men's head coach, Corbin Talley. "We are starting to get our competitive edge back. We saw a number of season bests, PR's, and all-time marks. Without an indoor conference championship, it was nice to see the team still fight for strong finishes. Very impressed with Caleb and Jed in the Heptathlon - finishing with #2 and #4 all-time marks. They have both worked extremely hard in the past 6 months."

Caleb Whitney earned first place in the heptathlon, racking up 5,408 points. Jed Smith came in second with a total of 4,995 points.

"We also had some very quick times from Isaac in the 60 and 200 and from Cyrus in the hurdles. And our young guys continue to impress with their efforts and performances," said Talley.

In the men's mile run, Kayden Harmon finished fourth with a time of 4:27.55. Carson Wilkins finished in seventh place at 4:33.71, and Josh Leatham finished eighth with a time of 4:34.40. Zach Wiberg came in 12th at 4:51.30, and Zachary Winter finished 13th at 4:51.69.

Cyrus Rindlisbacher performed well in the men's 60 meter hurdles, finishing in third place with a time of 8.16. Johnie Talamantes finished in seventh place with a time of 8.47.

In the men's 60 meters, Isaac Tillett finished second with a time of 6.85. Colton Reifschneider finished at 6.99 to earn sixth place.

Bryce Anderson performed well in the men's 800 meters, finishing with a time of 1:56.27 to earn second place.

Isaac Tillett also competed in the men's 200 meters and came in first place with a time of 21.80. Colton Reifschneider finished in fifth place with a time of 22.44, and Alex Wheeler finished eighth at 22.60.

Weber State's 4x400 team finished in first place with a time of 3:19.17. Alex Wheeler, Issac Tillett, Johnie Talamantes, and Cyrus Rindlisbacher make up this team.

In the men's long jump, Xakai Harry finished third with a 22-09.25. Lachlan Burns competed for Weber State in the pole vault and earned fifth place with a vault of 15-05.00. Ryan Shearman tied for seventh with a vault of 14-11.25, and Jed Smith finished ninth at 14-11.25.

Anthony Garcia competed in the high jump and had a three-way tie for seventh with a 6-05.25 jump. Alex Wheeler finished 10th with a 6-03.25 jump.

"We hope to get one more chance indoors at BYU in a couple of weeks, and that sets us up nicely heading into the spring. Again, we just feel so fortunate to be having opportunities and to be learning and getting better," said Talley.

Go Wildcats!
