Weber State Women's Tennis Falls to Utah State Saturday

Logan, UT - Weber State women's tennis ended its two-match weekend Saturday, falling to Utah State, 5-2.

The Wildcats picked up one win in doubles play, where junior Yuuna Ukita and sophomore Ana Morett Salas defeated Gabrielle Dekkers and Renata Lombera, 6-3, at the No. 1 position. The Aggies claimed the doubles point, however, with wins at Nos. 2 and 3. 

In singles, freshman Megan Davies earned the point for WSU, as she earned a three-set victory in the No. 4 position. After dropping the first set, 6-1, she bounced back to take wins of 6-3 and 7-5 in the second and third. Pei-Hsuan Kuo put up a fight in the No. 5 spot, earning the victory against her opponent 7-5, 2-6, 10-3. In the final singles match of the day, freshman Sicely Ferreira fought hard in the No. 6 spot, but ultimately fell to Gabrielle Dekkers 6-3, 7-6. 

Weber State heads to Boulder, CO, where they will play New Mexico on Thursday, March 18, at 11 a.m.
