Wildcats Dominate Colorado Mesa

Grand Junction, CO - The Weber State women's tennis team took a 7-0 win over Colorado Mesa Friday. After securing the doubles point quickly, the Cats' continued to showcase stellar performances. Â
"The team played focused and it was good to get the win today," said head coach RuthAnn Allen.
The Wildcats dominated doubles play, securing their first point of the match swiftly. On court three, Megan Lombardi and Sicely Ferreira cruised past their opponents 6-0. Closely following, Yuuna Ukita and Ana Morett Salas downed the Colorado Mesa duo 6-0. On court two, Pei-Hsuan Kuo and Megan Davies also defeated their opponents 6-3, to complete the doubles sweep and take a 1-0 lead.Â
During singles play, the Cats' got off to a quick start and secured their second point on court five, where Pei-Hsuan Kuo did not drop a set against Lauren Thomas winning 6-0, 6-0. Weber's third point came on court two when Ana Morett Salas downed her opposition 6-2, 6-1.Â
Quickly following her teammate's lead, Sicely Ferreira completed her match and posted a 6-1, 6-1 win. On court four, Megan Davies took the upper hand against Halle Romero, 6-1, 6-1 to keep it rolling.Â
On court 3, Megan Lombardi earned the victory 6-1, 6-4 against Carolena Campos. Yuuna Ukita earned Weber their final point on court one where she defeated her opponent 6-4, 6-2 to complete the sweep.Â
The Wildcats will continue their 2021 season Saturday, March 27 against Montana at 9 a.m.Â
