Wildcats Secure The Win 4-3 Against Montana State

Bozeman, MO - The Weber State women's tennis team rallied for a 4-3 victory Sunday morning with a win over Montana State. Pei-Hsuan Kuo clinched the match with a three-set win at No. 5 singles.
Weber State duo Megan Davies and Sicely Ferreira earned the first victory at No. 2 doubles against their opponents Enni Zander and JJ Chen, 6-2. At No. 1 doubles, Yuuna Ukita and Ana Morett Salas secured the doubles point for the Wildcats as they took the upper hand against Laura Mary and Mirte Van Baelen, 6-2. Meagan Lombardi and Pei-Hsuan Kuo went unfinished in the No. 3 position.
In singles play, Megan Davies was the first Wildcat to take the victory in the No. 4 position 6-2, 6-4. Following her teammate's lead in the No. 6 position Sicely Ferreira swept her opponent 6-0, 6-1. The final match at No. 5 singles, featured Pei-Hsuan Kuo against the Bobcats' Evi Buijsen. Kuo clinched the match with a three-set win 2-6, 6-1, 9-7 making the overall score 4-3 for the Wildcats.
"Freshmen Sicely Ferreira and Megan Davies did a tremendous job this weekend. They were able to handle the pressure and compete well. Patty Kuo came through to clinch the match after 7 match points down," said head coach RuthAnn Allen.
The Weber State women's tennis team will continue their 2021 season April 2 against Idaho State.
